State Tests
California students will take at least 4 standardized tests while in high school. In 9th, grade students take the Physical Fitness Test (PFT). In 11th grade, students will take the Smarter Balanced Assessments in English Language Arts and Math. These are commonly called SBAC and are aligned with the Common Core State Standards. LMA students will take the California Science Test (CAST) in 12th grade or after they have completed all their science courses. All students who are designated English Learners will take the summative English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) until they are reclassified.
